![]() The pond restoration will be managed by the Norfolk Rivers Trust, as part of the "9 Chalk Rivers Project". Planning permission for the enlargement is currently being sought (March 2014). The surveys conducted on the pond during 2012 highlighted the habitat at the rear and that many frogs and other species needed this area do the revised plan of dredging has consequently reduced.Īgain the original proposal of an island in the pond has been abandoned as it was thought that without predators the pond could get over run with ducks. Originally the rear area of the pond (as viewed from the bank retaining wall) was to be dredged then connected to the main pond now the plan is to clear the front area (Feb 2014) then later in either Autumn 2014 or 2015 enlarge the pond by about 0.36 Ha to the rear. ![]() Plans have changed a bit since the restoration was first planned.
